List Makers beware

I'm a list maker. There's nothing more satisfying than being able to cross things off my list. Yes...I am one of those people that will write something on my list I just did so I can cross it off. Why is that? Ha, ha!

I was reading a devotion about making lists from Proverbs 31 and it really made me think. What other lists am I keeping? The running list in my head that comes from satan. The things he tries to tell me or things that are good?

From my to-do list to the running in my mind list, what things am I writing down? I may be writing them on a piece of paper or am I writing them on my mind or even on my heart? I need to make sure that the only things written on my heart are those that come from the Lord.

Psalm 40:8  I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.”
Lord, take away any list that keeps me too busy from spending time with you and my family. Take away lists and things I am writing on my heart that are not from you. In the same way, help me to write Your list on the hearts of each of my children. In Jesus' Name...Amen.
