Welcome to our journey. The purpose of my blog is not only to journal our life experience, but also to share what God is doing in our lives. I do not claim to be an expert in parenting, marriage, or even the Bible. But I do have a heart to share my experiences and the true love that God has for each and every one of us. You can read our testimony by clicking on the top of the page. And if you'd like to know about the Homeless Ministry my husband started, you can click on the Homeless tab. I hope you will comment freely on my posts and in my community.

Why God?

UPDATED: Kristin's husband has created a Caringbridge site. They can use all the prayers they can get. Lift them up, praying for them for healing, both physically and in their hearts.

I'm sitting here, thinking. I'm thinking about pain and suffering. I'm wondering why children have to die? I'm wondering why people kill other people? I'm just wondering why bad things happen? I know that when sin came into this world, bad things started happening. That's why God sent His son to die for us. But still...I just wonder. I'm reading a book called "Faith & Doubt" by John Ortberg. It's a good read and I recommend it. I'm sad for Dave's cousin, Kristin. She was so excited about her baby boy that was going to be born soon. We had a baby shower for her and her sister. They were both very pregnant just a few weeks ago. They were both sharing the moment and anticipation of their babies entering this world. One baby came and she's beautiful and healthy. Two weeks later, the other one dies before he even gets a chance to enter this world. How sad! It just breaks my heart. That is when I say, Lord...why? Why the babies? Why the children? Why God? I know that I won't have these answers until I can stand before Him and ask. Maybe I won't even have to ask, because when I get to heaven, I'll know. Patience is a hard thing sometimes.

Please pray for Kristin. She is out of ICU, but she is still very ill. They are contimplating putting her back in ICU. She needed a few pints of blood today because her hemoglobin is low. Pray for her recovery. Pray for her and her family as they wait for the autopsy results to tell them what happened to their baby. Pray that they would get some answers. Pray for peace in their hearts. Oh, the pain I'm sure is deep. Pray for her sister and the feelings that may be rising up - with delivering a healthy baby girl. Pray for joy! Pray for joy in the midst of suffering. The kind of joy that only God can provide.

Life is precious. Spend it wisely.

I will update our prayer requests for Kristin when I have more info. Thanks for your prayers.

  1. I found your blog thru your comment on Bring the Rain. My heart goes out to Kristin and her family. Please let her know that she is in my prayers. I can't imagine the pain she is in. I delivered my baby boy one month early, and he is healthy and happy as can be. I can't help but think we will never know the reason why God takes some babies home, but her situation could have been mine, and I really feel for her.

God bless and grant you his peace!
