Welcome to our journey. The purpose of my blog is not only to journal our life experience, but also to share what God is doing in our lives. I do not claim to be an expert in parenting, marriage, or even the Bible. But I do have a heart to share my experiences and the true love that God has for each and every one of us. You can read our testimony by clicking on the top of the page. And if you'd like to know about the Homeless Ministry my husband started, you can click on the Homeless tab. I hope you will comment freely on my posts and in my community.

If I were rich...

I would own a big huge apartment building that would be dedicated to helping the homeless.  That has been my dream for over 20 years.  It's part of my testimony, part of who I am.  If you have not read my testimony, the story of how we came to start this ministry, you can do it here.  I will warn you that it's long.  But it is in 4 parts so you don't have to read it all at once.  Here's part one.

Ok, so back to my statement of "if I were rich".  If that was the case, I would be able to do so much.  I would help so many people.  But that's the thing.  It would be all about meI would be doing it.  Not God.  I wouldn't be dependant on Him.  Funny...how He has showed me, literally, how I don't need any money to help the homeless.  It's all His anyways.  This way...we are totally helpless ourselves.  Dave and I don't have money to do this.  Right now, we don't even have money to make our own budget work.  So, you see...everything that happens is because of God.  GOD gets ALL the glory.  Not us.  In the old testament, there are many times where God displays this.  When the Israelites left Egypt and were headed to the Promised Land, there were many times where it looked like they would be defeated.  They were outnumbered many times.  But that's when God showed up big time!  When they were obedient and pretty much following "blindly" they were rescued!  Exodus 14:18 When my glory is displayed through them, all Egypt will see my glory and know that I am the Lord!”

I kind of feel like that right now.  We are following, obeying and really trying to trust.  The kind of trust that comes from faith and that results in peace.

Psalm 3:3  But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.

Psalm 29:2  Honor the Lord for the glory of his name.Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

Psalm 44:8  O God, we give glory to you all day longand constantly praise your name.

Psalm 66:2  Sing about the glory of his name!Tell the world how glorious he is.

We are giving God all the glory!  He is mighty!

  1. Hey Chris!

I totally understand where you are coming from....you are trusting, obeying, doing "HIS" will and your thinking ok GOD I really would like some action here. What the Lord spoke to me at the time in my life was one word (now don't get frustrated), it was Patience. And I thought what the heck I have been more than PATIENT Lord!! But then he whispered "but so have I my dear and for thousands of YEARS. Patience is still not my virtue, even though anyone thats had a child could tell you that after 1 day with them you are a sworn in officer of patience. Love you and Prayin' for my favorite ministry. Lorie
