Welcome to our journey. The purpose of my blog is not only to journal our life experience, but also to share what God is doing in our lives. I do not claim to be an expert in parenting, marriage, or even the Bible. But I do have a heart to share my experiences and the true love that God has for each and every one of us. Time to rest and reconnect.

Now that I'm 2 weeks post surgery...I'm doing much better. Thanks for all the prayers, emails, comments, meals, cards and just pure love! I'm so blessed. I have to admit that having my kids home is a tiny bit more work, but I love it! We're having fun. We've been putting puzzles together, swimming and doing lots of cuddling. Have I said that I love it!?!

While our kiddos were at their grandparent's cabin, Dave and I had lots of time to reconnect.
We went out on a few dates.

We laughed and laughed.
Song of Solomon 1:2 Kiss me and kiss me again, for your love is sweeter than wine.

If you and your spouse have been neglecting each other, if you haven't been on a date for a while, if you're too wrapped up in your children, your job or even ministry, STOP IT!

It's amazing what time alone will do for you and to you. While I was in the hospital on two separate visits (yes, I was readmitted due to an Ileus) and the kids were gone, Dave was alone. He said he realized how lonely and quiet it was without the kids and me. He felt a glimps of what being an empty nester might be like one day.  He said he realized how much he hates being home by himself. He did find it nice that when he left a clean house, he came home to a clean house though. :)

One day when he was up at the hospital with me for a few hours, he was soooo bored that he said he'd rather go home and do laundry than sit in that room any more! Of course, I told him then by all means...he should go and do just that! ha, ha!

Too funny! I told him that personally I loved sitting there. He didn't leave me alone though...I was in good hands as my friend Cindy had just arrived to give me a manicure. :)

Not that I would recommend having surgery, but I do recommend taking some serious time to spend with your spouse. It's so important. We can get so caught up in our kids, jobs and just life. But really the most important thing is our marriage. Whether it's just talking to each other, playing silly card games, watching a movie or going out for a nice dinner, just make sure to take time for each other. It will do wonders for you!

Song of Solomon 1:3 How fragrant your cologne; your name is like its spreading fragrance.
(Song of Solomon is the most romantic chapter in the Bible.)
