Welcome to our journey. The purpose of my blog is not only to journal our life experience, but also to share what God is doing in our lives. I do not claim to be an expert in parenting, marriage, or even the Bible. But I do have a heart to share my experiences and the true love that God has for each and every one of us. All I Want for Christmas IS...

YOU! I know, I know. It's not even Halloween yet. BUT here's the deal...I'm already thinking about Christmas. Maybe it's the cold temp, maybe it's the sound of the wind howling. Or maybe it was an email I received from someone looking for a way for her family to volunteer on Christmas Day. It got me to thinking. Last year, we had a small Christmas party a couple of days before Christmas for some homeless people. I remember thinking "how am I going to do this when I have all this wrapping and cleaning and "stuff" to do to get ready for Christmas. And as if lightening struck me, except it didn't, something hit me. I was being so selfish. It was as if God was looking me right in the eye saying "Really Christine? Is that what Christmas is about?". Talk about being convicted. I almost looked around to see if anyone else heard that. This got me to thinking about this Christmas. I'm usually really excited to host the holidays at our home. Not this year. Dave and I have talked about it. We're spending Christmas with the homeless. Since we can't really bring them all to our house, we'll be going to them.

Why am I telling you this? Well, here's where YOU come into this. I'm not telling you this because I want your praise. I'm telling you this, because we can't do this on our own. We can't prepare a feast for 300 - 500 people on our own. We need your help. Wouldn't it be amazing to bless a few hundred people who have no where to go? And I'm talking more than just spooning up a meal for them. I'm talking about bringing them the gift of our love and our time. The gift of a homemade meal, prepared with love by many. The gift of laughter. And maybe even a gift they could unwrap. That would be icing on the cake. It's not even Halloween and yet I'm so excited. We don't have a plan yet. Just the idea. Hopefully, plans will be made soon.

My prayer would be that you might be open to this and pray about joining us. I truly can not think of a better way to spend Christmas with my family, my friends, and friends I don't even know...yet.
