Welcome to our journey. The purpose of my blog is not only to journal our life experience, but also to share what God is doing in our lives. I do not claim to be an expert in parenting, marriage, or even the Bible. But I do have a heart to share my experiences and the true love that God has for each and every one of us. You can read our testimony by clicking on the top of the page. And if you'd like to know about the Homeless Ministry my husband started, you can click on the Homeless tab. I hope you will comment freely on my posts and in my community.

Praising God!

I am so sorry for not posting my results sooner. It never occurred to me that some of you may still be praying and waiting. I had posted my results on BF and FB so I just assumed everyone knew.

After what seemed to be the longest 24 hours EVER...I finally called the clinic to see if my results were in. The nurse called me back within 15 minutes with the best news ever!  I have 2 Fibroadenomas that are benign!  No cancer!  I think I could've cried but I was so tired that instead, I just napped.  :)  What this means for me is that I will go back every year to make sure that they're not growing too rapidly or getting to big. If that were to happen, I would have a lumpectomy.

What I learned from this is that it's very important to know your own body. That means regular self-exams. There have been a few funny jokes going around about hubbies being the pros at this, but honestly...had it not been for Dave...I probably would still be just "thinking" about how I need to have a mamogram one day.  The other thing is that mamograms are NOT that bad. Seriously! I imagined it to be much worse. All that worry for nothing. Even the biopsy was not nearly as bad as I had imagined it would be.

After the 2 day ordeal, I had told my hubby that I felt like I lost 2 days of my life. Because from Thursday morning until Friday night, I got nothing done! I had my 2 days off planned to the minute with all the stuff I needed to get done. After working 45 hours that week and almost 80 hours the week before, all the while not having a day off in more than 2 weeks...you can imagine what my house and laundry pile looked like. So, MY plan was to clean, do laundry, and catch up on work that I needed to get done. But obviously God had other plans for me which included REST and REST! Since when I left the clinic on Thursday afternoon with strict instructions to do no lifting and no cleaning, what else was there to do but rest. And like my husband said to me, "I think that's probably what you needed to do anyways", that was probably the case.

I'm so excited to leave for our annual women's retreat this Thursday. We'll spend Thursday and Friday getting ready for the ladies who will arrive on Friday evening. We'll have fun and get to rest before everyone arrives on Friday evening too! I can't wait to see what God has in store for about 150 ladies this weekend.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support through this ordeal. It sure does give me perspective. And another reminder of how important it is to let others know that you're praying for them. I can't tell you how many times I was brought to tears by your comments on my blog, on FB and in the BF community! Knowing that others are praying for you is so comforting and truly brings peace. Thank you!!!

One more reminder...get your mamograms done!

Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
